DCLXVI – The Numeral of the Beast - Part 47

Stories around my fantasy trilogy - Breaking the Tranquillity of Solitude.

Part Five of Part One.

Cu-bér and Brody bury their fallen friends and relatives and set off in pursuit of Evet, guessing that he will retreat to Langgnãd to relink up with Charlotte for back up. They quickly locate them, but Brody and Cu-bér are then mentally controlled by Evet into attacking each other. Brody is wounded in the fight, and Charlotte then jumps him to drain his blood from his open wounds, but Cu-bér manages to break Evet’s grip, knocks Charlotte away from Brody and attacks Evet. Both Evet and Brody are bleeding profusely and Evet is forced to relinquish his subversion of Charlotte. She becomes her true self and is able to tend to their wounds…

Brody is left recovering knowing his choice lies between allowing Evet to be in charge to use his mystical Necronomicon to get him home, possibly killing Charlotte and Cu-bér in the process of destroying the phase they are currently in OR staying and losing his chance to get home to Charley and Cash. Only he can decide…

At this point Breaking the Tranquillity of Solitude Part 1 ends and the reader is left to contemplate all the nuances and small details that are clues along the way to help decipher what his original mistake was that put him in this alternate phase of reality and how he is going to get home.

Without giving anything away, you do need to read the book itself to spot various things that are part of the narrative but give huge clues. I have deliberately omitted most of these in my hasty overview. I hope you are suitably intrigued to venture onto Amazon to get a copy and see how much more exciting it can be described in full colour over 80,000 words as compared to a few paragraphs in these blogs.
